Update For Yesterday’s Wildfire

City PlannerCommunity

Yesterday afternoon, your Harrah Fire Department responded to a wildfire near SE 29th St. and Slagle Rd. Strong winds and very low humidity caused the fire to exhibit erratic behavior, making firefighting efforts extremely challenging for crews on scene.

Despite the difficult conditions, your firefighters worked quickly and aggressively to contain the fire, and we’re happy to report that no structures were lost.

Residents in the surrounding area may notice smoke lingering for some time. This is due to debris and vegetation continuing to smolder within the already burned areas. Please be assured that your Harrah Fire Department personnel remain on scene and are closely monitoring active hotspots to ensure the fire stays contained.

We appreciate the community’s patience and support while crews continue to monitor the area. If you are traveling nearby, please use caution and watch for emergency personnel and equipment.
