The City of Harrah is located in Oklahoma County, and is a part of the Oklahoma City MSA. Located approximately 25 miles east of downtown Oklahoma City, the City of Harrah is a desirable community for families and individuals working in the surrounding area of Tinker Airforce Base, the largest employer in the state of Oklahoma. The 155 acre Harrah Industrial Park is located in a convenient location on Reno Avenue 1/4 mile east of Harrah Road(Highway 270). Highway 270 is four lanes and connects with Interstate Highway 40. Access to Will Rogers International Airport is 28 miles from Harrah via Interstate 40 and Interstate 240. Utilities are available to the Harrah Industrial Park. The City of Harrah provides water and sewer, Oklahoma Gas and Electric, and both offer an aggressive incentive program to attract and retain industry. The Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center, approximately 8 miles from the site, provides training custom designed for your business or industry.
Water Systems
Public Water is provided by excellent quality ground water. The City has the current capacity to provide 928,000 gallons of water per day (1,018,000 storage). Current consumption is approximately 250,000 gallons per day with a peak consumption of 400,000 gallons per day. The water supply can easily be expanded to 3 million gallons per day by adding additional wells to the existing aquifer. Wastewater is treated at a modern sequencing batch reactor system wastewater treatment plant. The plant has a processing capacity of 995,000 gallons per day. The current usage is approximately 40% of capacity. The wastewater plant can easily be expanded to provide 3 million gallons per day if needed.
Services
Approximately 40 motor freight companies serve Harrah. United Parcel Service , Federal Express , and DHL are available. A five-year abatement program for property taxes for the school system, County and State property taxes is available. The sales tax rate for the City of Harrah is 4%. This tax is partially dedicated to water and sewer development. The Harrah Industrial and Economic Development Trust is available for local financing. The Oklahoma Finance Authorities (OFA) and other state agencies provide additional sources of low-interest financing. The Small Business Assistance Center a Rose State College (405) 736-0315 also assists in SBA financing and has a vast amount of information, as does OG&E Business Resource Center (800) 627-3464 or (405) 553-3977) BancFirst, First National Bank of Midwest City, and Advantage Bank provide business loans.
