The City of Harrah has been permitted by DEQ to allow people affected by the November 3rd tornado to bring out their vegetative debris to the City’s property located at 21700 East Reno. Starting Thursday, November 14th , both Harrah residents and people that live in the unincorporated area can bring tree branches, logs, leaves, and plants and dump them at this location during hours of operation. Hours of operation will be 8am – 5pm 7 day a week through Wednesday November 27th. City staff will evaluate the progress and re-assess the needs of the community and post updated days and hours of operation on Monday, November 25th for after the Thanksgiving holidays. Unfortunately, lumber is NOT categorized as vegetative debris, it is categorized as construction debris and must be separated. Also, the City of Harrah has partnered with Oklahoma County crews to come out to the neighborhoods and gather the vegetative debris from the roadside, however, they will start on the Section line roads and then work their way into the neighborhoods. We will give updates on which neighborhoods they will start to work in as we get closer to finishing up the main roads. Please remember to keep your vegetative debris separate from any household or construction debris.

Please note, the City of Harrah is not requiring proof of residency, however we do need the address from where the limbs came from.
If you are putting limbs out by the curb for the County to pick up then please limit to 8 feet in length.
Starting Thursday people that were affected by the November 3rd Tornado will be able to haul vegetative debris (limbs, leaves, logs, and plants) to the City’s Industrial Park over off of East Reno and Neil at 21700 E. Reno and follow the signs to the dump site. To satisfy FEMA’s requirement we will need to know the address that the limbs came from, and we will also need to measure every load that comes in to keep track of the total volume of debris.
Oklahoma County will be working with the City to gather vegetative debris from the section line roads first and they will be starting at the intersection of S.E. 29th and Triple X and will work their way Northeast, much like the tornado did. After the section line roads have been cleaned up, the County will utilize their equipment to clean up the neighborhoods next starting in the Woodbridge addition. We will give you an update on the start time for the neighborhoods as time progresses.
Update* 11-27-2024
The City of Harrah will be altering the hours of operations at the drop-off location. During the past 14 days we only had 13 loads dropped off by homeowners so we will not continue keeping the drop off site open during the weekends. Starting Monday, December 2nd the drop off site will only be open from 8am – 4:30 pm Monday – Thursday and 8am – 11am on Fridays for the foreseeable future.
Also, we have been in limbo pertaining to the non-vegetative debris, but FEMA has yet to make any disaster declaration, so homeowners are responsible to haul off any “non-vegetative” debris from their property, such as construction debris and household debris from the destruction of the November 3rd tornado. Without that declaration, Harrah nor Oklahoma County will receive any reimbursement to cover the cost of hauling such debris and covering landfill fees. That will be something to discuss with your insurance, but ultimately it comes down to homeowner responsibility. If you have any questions, you can call Harrah City Hall at 405-454-2951
