After careful and considerable review of the health information available to the public regarding the COVID-19 virus, an understanding of the need for business owners to reopen their businesses and the need for the citizens of Harrah to receive goods and services, the Mayor of the City of Harrah is amending his proclamation effective Friday, April 24, 2020:

  • All City owned public buildings, including City Hall will open to the public on Monday, April 27, 2020.
  • The City of Harrah continues to recommend following the guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) www.cdc.gov
  • All businesses within the corporate limits of the City of Harrah may open without restriction to the business use or category.  
  • Restaurants may reopen lobbies for dine in and carry out.  However, patrons must maintain six (6) feet apart and, if applicable, be seated at every other table.
  • Municipal/Traffic Court will resume at its regularly scheduled day and time.
  • To our citizens that may be at higher risk due to age or a serious long-term health issues, it is important for you to continue taking actions to reduce your exposure.  Per CDC guidelines, we recommend the following:
    • Take everyday precautions to keep space between yourself and other.
    • If you must go out in public, keep away from others who are sick, limit close contact and wash your hands often.
    • Avoid crowds as much as possible.
    • Stay home as much as possible to further reduce your risk of being exposed.
    • Contact your healthcare provider about obtaining extra necessary medications.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.  We are a tight knit community with a history of coming together during difficult times – this situation will pass and we are confident that Harrah and the great state of Oklahoma will come out stronger on the other side.  Residents are encouraged to visit the OKC County Health Department’s website at www.occhd.org for the latest COVID-19 updates or to call their hotline at 877-215-8336 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
